What is 3D Secure?

Tesco Bank Secure provides an extra layer of security when making credit card purchases online.
Provided in association with 'Verified by Visa' and 'MasterCard® SecureCode™', it is part of the 3D Secure standard and helps protect your card against unauthorised use when you purchase from participating retailers.
It doesn’t take long to register – all that’s required is for you to enter some information to identify yourself, choose a login name, personal message and password. These details should be unique to you and will be used by you to approve your future purchases.
Once you've registered, when you purchase online from participating retailers, Tesco Bank Secure displays a "receipt" at the end of the checkout process. You "sign the receipt" by typing in characters from your personal password when prompted and click Submit to proceed with the purchase. Without your password, the purchase cannot take place.
