Question:
What’s covered under the Tesco Travel Insurance policy?
Answer:
It is important to be aware that travel insurance only covers specific risks. If an event occurs that isn't covered by the policy, you are unlikely to get back all the money you have paid for your trip. For example, if you book a flight and accommodation separately and your flight is cancelled, your airline should refund or rearrange your flight but you may not be able to recover your accommodation costs from the provider. (An excess would also normally apply to any claim amount that is paid to you).
Travel insurance also does not cover any events that are known about before taking out the policy or booking a trip. For example, if strike action has been announced, the risk to a flight being cancelled is much greater and policies purchased after the announcement would not provide cover if this happened.
