Question:
Do I need third party liability cover for my dog?
Answer:
With claims for compensation becoming more common, you may want to insure your dog in case it injures someone else or causes damage to their property. For example, if your dog ran out into the road and caused an accident, not only might you have the cost of your pet's injuries to deal with, but you may also be liable to cover the cost of damage to the car, and this could run into thousands of pounds. For an increased premium, Tesco Pet Insurance offers third party liability cover for dogs insurance up to a maximum of two million pounds. Please note that third party liability must be purchased as an additional component of policy cover and that if you purchase this benefit, and you have cover under any other insurance policy (such as home insurance) we will not pay any claim unless all the cover under that policy has been reached. Third party liability cover is only available for dogs.
