Question:
Why do I have an excess and how is it applied?
Answer:
An excess is a way of reducing your premiums. It means that people insured under the policy pay a certain amount of their claims. You choose the level of excess when you start your policy and AXA PPP healthcare deduct this from the first eligible account(s) it receives in a renewal year, until the excess limit is reached. The excess applies per year, not for every claim. Your policy will pay the balance of eligible claims after deduction of the excess amount. Each person insured under the policy has an excess applied to their claims.
