Why would I call the Health at Hand Service?

The team of nurses, pharmacists, counsellors and midwives is on hand to offer you the benefit of their expertise. They can give you all the latest information on specific illnesses, treatments and medications as well as details of local and national organisations that could help you. They can also send you free fact sheets on a wide range of medical issues, conditions and treatments, and will happily phone you back to discuss any questions you may have once you've had a chance to read them. Health at Hand does not diagnose or prescribe and it is not designed to take the place of your GP. However, it can provide you with valuable information to help put your mind at rest.
So whether you are calling because you have late night worries about a child's health, or have some questions that you forgot to ask your GP, it's likely that Health at Hand can help. Here are just a few examples of the topics covered:
