Question:

Can you explain a chronic condition?

Answer:

A chronic condition is a disease, illness or injury which has at least one of the following characteristics:

  • It continues indefinitely and has no known cure.
  • It comes back or is likely to come back.
  • It is permanent.
  • You need to be rehabilitated or specially trained to cope with it.
  • It needs long term monitoring, consultations, check ups, examinations or tests.

Ongoing or long term treatment of chronic conditions is not covered on these products. We can provide you with a leaflet that explains how we deal with chronic conditions. For a copy please call the Personal Advisory team who are available on the telephone Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm on 0800 085 1800.
