What happens if I have car accident and its not my fault?

Answer:

All accidents should be reported to us immediately on 0845 300 4400. You should also contact the police if anyone has been injured in the accident.

If you have comprehensive cover our first priority is to get your car repaired and roadworthy or reach a settlement if its a total loss. After this, we'll try to recover our costs from the person responsible for the accident. If we're successful your claim will not affect your no claims discount, however if we are unable to recover losses your no claims discount will be affected.

If you receive any correspondence from the other driver or their insurers please send it to us at Tesco Car Insurance, Cote Lane, Leeds LS28 5ZX and we'll reply on your behalf.

Your claims advisor will be able to give you an indication of how long its likely to take us to get all the information we need to settle your claim.
