Question:

Can I use a hands-free kit with my mobile phone when I'm driving?

Answer:

It is illegal to use a hand-held mobile phone or similar device when driving. This includes using it to make calls, text message, access the internet or using any video function.

Using a mobile phone operated without holding it e.g. by using a hands-free kit is not necessarily illegal however you can still be prosecuted if the police take the view that you were distracted whilst driving.
