Question:

What is fronting?

Answer:

Fronting occurs when a young person is the main driver of a car but the insurer is deliberately told that a parent is the main driver/policyholder in order to obtain a cheaper premium. This practice can be very costly as it may result in your policy being declared void and/or claims being declined.

You have a duty to disclose accurate information therefore if a policy is deliberately ‘fronted’ it will be considered as fraud by the insurer.
